Art House Darlings
Wee See DVDs
Sure, infants may look like they were born yesterday, but don’t let appearances fool you. Just because newborns aren’t old enough to judge you for your Real Housewives of God-knows-where addiction does not mean that they don’t have the wherewithal to appreciate a good art film.
The blissed-out reactions to the sophisticated Wee See DVDs are proof positive that babies’ tastes in movies run towards the avant-garde. Designed by Rolyn Barthelman with studies of infant vision in mind, the two-disc set features an array of basic, black and white geometric shapes moving to create a stunning and constantly evolving visual experience. Combined with the spellbinding score of Tripping Daisy frontman Tim DeLaughter, the final effect is nothing short of entrancing.
You can watch the DVDs together (they’re that good), or let your little culturati have her fun while you sneak off to catch last night’s Housewives. You heathen, you.
